That’s a wrap!

It hasn’t been an easy choice. We have received 260 photographs of 52 photographers from Belgium, Brazil, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, India, Ireland, Iran, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the USA. Wow!

First of all, didi madloba to all of the participants for helping make the contest a success! We have received some amazing works and it was quite a challenge to make our final choice.

With gratitude to all the participants who entered the competition, we are proud to announce that Marie Couvert-Castera (France), Hossein Fardinfard (Iran), Natalia Gujejiani (Georgia), Graham Martin (Ireland), Nino-Ana Samkharadze (Georgia) and João Sousa (Portugal) are the finalists of the first International Photography Contest ‘Georgian Stories’! All their works will be included in our exhibitions.

The judges have made a decision to include twelve additional works of eight photographers as an honorary mention: Agnes Aus (Estonia), Natalia Campos (Brazil), Mariam Kapanadze (Georgia), Bettina Malik (Germany), Sofi Mdivnishvili (Georgia), Magda Mushkudiani (Georgia), Meir Sussman (Germany), Mariam Turashvili (Georgia).

The works will be exhibited during Georgian Week, January 13 – 17, at the Café International of the University of Cologne (Zülpicherstraße 70). We invite you to the opening of the exhibition on January 13, at 6 pm.

After Georgian Week the exhibition will travel to the Consulate General of Georgia in Frankfurt and stay there till the end of February. In spring the Embassy of Georgia in Berlin will host the exhibition.

All the picked photographers will be given a Certificate of Participation issued by the International Office of Cologne University.
